The Artists’ Association Gemeinschaft Lübecker Künstlerinnen und Künstler e. V.
pursues the goal of promoting art and culture in the Hanseatic City of Lübeck, enriching cultural life and combining creative impulses with current, socio-political and relevant topics for the city and the region. The association has been supporting regional artists since 1946, promoting the interests of Lübeck artists and creating platforms for exchange and innovation through exhibitions, workshops, lectures and performances. In addition, we have been running a small producers’ gallery in the historic old town of Lübeck for over ten years. This serves as a regular venue for exhibitions and artistic exchange.
Opening of Weighty Matters in September 2023, ARTLER gallery, Lübeck.
WHY WE BRING ART TO PIRAEUS
Two years ago, the Gemeinschaft Lübecker Künstlerinnen und Künstler e. V. extended an invitation to 14 Greek artists to present their works at the ARTLER gallery in Lübeck. The exhibition was curated and represented by Athens artist and gallery owner Georg Georgakopoulos, CHEAPART Athens.
In October, there will be the return visit, the away game of the Lübeck artists in Athens. As part of the OpenArtLink 2025event in the Piraeus Project, ten artists will give the Lübeck community an insight into their creative work and thus demonstrate the artistic diversity within the association.
